Interpretation

This verse talks about a person who is truly content and balanced in life. It explains that someone who is aware of their relationship with a higher purpose or God doesn't overly stress about how much they need to earn or achieve. They are satisfied with what comes to them naturally without forcing things or becoming greedy.

1. **Contentment with What Comes**: This person doesn’t chase after every opportunity or feel the need to have more. They find happiness in what they already have. It’s like when you enjoy a nice meal; you appreciate it for what it is without constantly wanting a fancier dish. When gains come to them easily, they accept them with a thankful heart rather than feeling like they need to keep pushing for more.

2. **Freedom from Jealousy**: They don’t feel envious of what others have. Imagine if your friend got a new car. Instead of feeling jealous, you are happy for them because you know that everyone has their own path and timing. This mindset helps in reducing negative feelings and promoting positivity in one’s life.

3. **Steadiness in Success and Failure**: This individual remains calm whether they succeed or fail. Think of a student who studies hard for an exam. If they pass, they celebrate but don’t let it go to their head. If they fail, they don’t fall apart; they learn from it and move on. This steadiness allows them to continue working toward their goals without being shaken by ups and downs.

4. **Acting Without Attachment**: They perform their duties but are not overly concerned about the results of their actions. Suppose someone is a painter. They love painting for the sake of expression rather than just selling their work. They enjoy the process so much that they aren't burdened by whether their paintings sell or not.

5. **Rising Above Dualities**: This aspect refers to the contrasts we face in life, like happiness and sorrow, success and failure, praise and criticism. A person described in this verse does not get caught up in these oppositions. When life gets tough, they remain balanced, keeping their inner peace intact.

Overall, this verse emphasizes living life joyfully and with purpose, free from greed or jealousy while staying steady through life's rollercoaster. By keeping your focus on your own growth and learning while hoping for everyone's wellbeing, you can achieve a sense of freedom and happiness that is untouched by external circumstances.
