Interpretation

This verse is about the moment we all face eventually—death. It emphasizes how important it is to focus our thoughts on God, specifically the Supreme Lord, during that time.

When we think about death, many people can feel scared or anxious, but this verse offers a kind of comfort or guidance. It tells us that if someone has spent their life thinking about God and has developed a strong feeling of devotion, it will help them at the moment of their passing.

Now, there is a mention of fixing one's ‘life air’ between the eyebrows, which relates to a practice used by some people who are familiar with yoga. This position is believed to help in focusing the mind. But if someone isn’t trained in yoga, that’s okay! The most important thing is to have a mind full of love and remembrance of God.

For anyone, especially those who are devoted to God, the verse says that remembering Him—like Krishna—at the time of death is what really matters. It means that if we always try to keep God in our thoughts, He will be with us when we need Him most. By doing so, we can be sure we will reach Him after we leave this world.

Moreover, the verse reassures us that reaching out to the Supreme Lord with a sincere heart can guarantee that we will be welcomed by Him after we pass away. This message encourages us to cultivate a deep connection with God throughout our lives, so that when the time comes, it will be natural for us to remember Him completely.
