Interpretation

This verse talks about a special achievement that some people, referred to as 'great souls' or 'mahatmas,' attain through their devotion. It says that once these individuals reach a certain spiritual state or place, known as Krsnaloka or Goloka Vrndavana, they do not come back to our world.

Now, what does it mean that our world is temporary and full of miseries? Think about life here on Earth—people face challenges like getting older, getting sick, and eventually passing away. These experiences can cause a lot of suffering, like the pain of losing loved ones or dealing with illness. The Bhagavad Gita describes our material world as a place full of these difficulties.

The 'supreme planet' or Krsnaloka is portrayed as a blissful place, unlike our world. It is beyond what we can see or imagine and is considered the ultimate goal for many spiritual seekers. Those who reach this place have found the highest level of fulfillment and happiness.

How do these great souls get to this point? They dedicate themselves to profound spiritual practices and connect with the divine. They receive teachings from wise and realized beings, which helps them grow in their understanding and love for God, particularly in the form of Krsna. As they engage in devotion, their love for Krsna becomes so deep that they stop wanting to go to any other places—even other spiritual realms. They only wish to be with Krsna because that is where they find true happiness.

In essence, this verse teaches us about the importance of devotion and the possibilities that come with it. It tells us that by truly focusing on spiritual practice and building a strong connection with Krsna, one can achieve the highest state of life, where they are free from the pains and troubles of our temporary world.
