Sankhya-yoga

The Blessed Lord said: O mighty-armed son of Kunti, it is undoubtedly very difficult to curb the restless mind, but it is possible by constant practice and by detachment.

श्री भगवानुवाच
असंशयं महाबाहो मनो दुर्निग्रहं चलं।
अभ्यासेन तु कौन्तेय वैराग्येण च गृह्यते।।6.35।।

asanśhayaṁ mahā-bāho mano durnigrahaṁ chalam
abhyāsena tu kaunteya vairāgyeṇa cha gṛihyate

So, how does one use these methods in daily life? Krishna explains that one effective way is to engage in what is called ‘Krishna consciousness’ or being aware of God and His teachings. Just as a good story can captivate your imagination, stories about Krishna can help fix your mind positively. When you regularly listen to uplifting teachings, it builds a sense of peace within you and can help you detach from worldly worries.
- **Engaging in Devotion**: There are different forms of devotion, like chanting, singing, and praying. These practices help to create a relationship with Krishna, which leads to a deeper sense of satisfaction and fulfillment.

The happiness you feel from these spiritual activities is compared to how satisfying it is to eat nourishing food when you’re hungry; it fills you up in a way that nothing else can.
